Best Rides for Toddlers at Disneyland Paris

You get to fly over Neverland, which is a pretty difficult idea for a young Disney fan to resist.

Peter Pan's Flight is a gentle Fantasyland dark ride with lots of characters, scenes and little details to spot along the way.

There are some darker sections, but for us it is one of the best all-round rides for younger children at Disneyland Park.

It also has that proper Disney feeling to it.

You climb aboard your flying pirate ship, rise above London and then travel through Neverland.

For many little ones, it is exactly the sort of ride they imagine when you tell them they are going to Disneyland.

For us, Dumbo is one of the ultimate toddler rides.

It is simple, colourful and gives younger children something they absolutely love: control.

You, or your little one, can decide how high Dumbo flies as you circle above Fantasyland.

That makes it feel exciting without needing to be a big thrill ride.

You also get some brilliant views across Fantasyland while you are up there.

Sometimes the simplest Disney attractions are the ones younger children remember most, and Dumbo is a perfect example.

If we were picking one attraction for even the tiniest Disneyland Paris guests, this would be very high on the list.

It's a Small World is a gentle indoor boat ride packed with colour, music and things to look at.

There is always something happening around you, but the ride itself is wonderfully calm.

It is also a really useful change of pace during a busy park day.

When everyone needs to sit down for a while, get out of the weather and simply enjoy being carried through an attraction, this is one of our favourites.

Casey Jr. gives you a little bit more excitement without suddenly becoming a big roller coaster.

It is an outdoor train ride around Storybook Land, with a bit more speed and movement than some of the gentler Fantasyland attractions.

For toddlers who are starting to enjoy slightly more exciting rides, we think this can be a brilliant next step.

You also get lovely elevated views across the miniature landscapes below.

It feels playful and fun rather than intimidating.

This is one of the most peaceful rides in Disneyland Park.

You travel by boat through miniature scenes inspired by Disney stories, with lots of tiny details to look out for along the way.

There are no big thrills here.

And that is exactly why we like it.

It can be a lovely attraction when little legs need a break, everyone needs to slow down for a bit or you simply want something quieter between bigger rides.

It is particularly nice on a good-weather day because the whole attraction is outdoors.

Sometimes the simplest ones really are the best.

Le Carrousel de Lancelot sits right in the heart of Fantasyland and is about as classic a theme park ride as you can get.

Your little one can choose their horse, climb aboard and enjoy a proper traditional carousel surrounded by Disneyland Paris.

There is nothing complicated about it.

For younger children, that is often the point.

It feels magical, it is easy to understand and you are right in the middle of one of the prettiest parts of Disneyland Park.

Snow White is one we would put into the slightly braver toddler category.

It is absolutely designed as a family attraction, but do not assume that means every young child will find it gentle.

There are some surprisingly dark scenes inside.

The Evil Queen, the witch and parts of the attraction can be genuinely frightening for some toddlers, particularly if they are already wary of dark rides.

Other little ones will absolutely love it.

This is one where knowing your own child matters much more than their age.

Pinocchio is another classic Fantasyland dark ride.

There are lots of colourful scenes, characters and moments from the story, so there is plenty for younger children to look at.

But it is also darker and noisier than you might expect.

Like Snow White, we would not automatically put this into the completely gentle category just because it is suitable for younger guests.

For a toddler who already enjoys dark rides, it can be great fun.

For one who is nervous around darkness, loud noises or slightly strange characters, you may want to work up to it.

Bright, colourful and very Disney.

The Mad Hatter's Tea Cups are another attraction where you can decide how exciting you want the experience to be.

You can spin your cup as much or as little as you like.

That makes it particularly useful with younger children because you do not have to turn it into a wild spinning ride unless everyone wants to.

For little ones, simply sitting in a giant colourful teacup and travelling around the attraction can be enough.

It is simple, silly and great fun.

If you are introducing a very young child to Disneyland Paris rides, we would probably start with:

It's a Small World

Le Pays des Contes de Fées

Le Carrousel de Lancelot

These are the ones we would think of as the calmer, slower-paced choices.

They are great when you want something gentle or when everyone needs a break from a busy park day.

If your toddler wants something with a bit more going on, we would look at:

Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Casey Jr. le Petit Train du Cirque

Mad Hatter's Tea Cups

None of these needs to feel particularly intense, but they give younger children a little more movement, height or excitement.

Then you have the classic Fantasyland dark rides:

Peter Pan's Flight

Blanche-Neige et les Sept Nains

Les Voyages de Pinocchio

Peter Pan is the easiest recommendation of the three for us.

Snow White and Pinocchio are both brilliant Disney attractions, but they can be darker, noisier and a little scarier than parents might expect from rides aimed at families.

Pirates of the Caribbean is another attraction younger children can ride, and plenty of toddlers absolutely love it.

But we would put it in a different category from something like It's a Small World.

It is dark, there are loud moments, skeletons, pirates and a much more atmospheric feel.

There are also some more exciting moments during the ride.

For some toddlers, that makes it fantastic.

For others, it might be too much.

Again, this is one where you know your little one better than any guide does.

Disneyland Paris has loads for toddlers.

You do not need to spend the entire day watching older children and adults disappear onto rides while the youngest member of the family waits outside.

Fantasyland in particular is packed with attractions younger children can enjoy.

For us, the best approach is to start gently and see how they react.

If they love It's a Small World and the Carrousel, try Dumbo.

If they enjoy Peter Pan and are happy in darker attractions, perhaps move on to Pinocchio or Snow White.

And if they are suddenly asking to go on everything?

You might have created a tiny Disney ride addict.
