Is Peter Pan’s Flight Worth a 60-Minute Queue?

It is not simply the length of the wait.

A significant amount of the Peter Pan queue is outside, which means it is not particularly enjoyable at either end of the weather scale.

On a hot summer day, standing outside for the best part of an hour can feel endless. In winter, the same applies when it is cold, wet or windy.

There are much more comfortable queues at Disneyland Paris if you are going to spend that long waiting.

Once you finally board, Peter Pan’s Flight is still genuinely charming.

You climb aboard a pirate ship and fly above London before heading into Neverland. The suspended ride system, tiny illuminated scenes below you and classic soundtrack give it that proper old-school Disney feeling.

There is something about flying over London that still works, however many times we have done it.

But there is no getting away from the fact that it is an older attraction.

Some of the movement feels a little rickety and, compared with newer Disney rides, the sets and effects are noticeably simpler.

We do not particularly mind that because it is part of the attraction’s charm, but it does matter when you are deciding whether it is worth a 60-minute queue.

The ride lasts roughly three minutes.

That is a very short payoff after potentially spending an hour waiting.

The pirate ships can hold up to five guests, although larger groups may still find themselves split between multiple vehicles depending on how everyone fits.

That is hardly a deal breaker, but it is worth knowing if part of the appeal is experiencing the ride together after a long wait.

For us, no.

We really like Peter Pan’s Flight. It is classic Disneyland Paris, it is beautifully nostalgic and we would genuinely miss it if it disappeared.

But we would not sacrifice an hour of a park day for a three-minute ride.

There are simply too many other things we would rather be doing.

The slightly ridiculous part is that we still ride Peter Pan on every trip.

There are attractions we are perfectly happy to skip occasionally, but Peter Pan somehow never becomes one of them. It is one of those rides that just feels like part of a Disneyland Paris visit.

We just try very hard not to queue an hour for it.

If Peter Pan is important to you, our preferred approach is to ride it during Extra Magic Time.

You may still find yourself waiting around 30 minutes, particularly on a busy morning, but we would take that over a regular 60-minute queue in the middle of the day every time.

It also means you can get Peter Pan done early and spend the busiest part of the day on attractions where the longer wait feels more worthwhile.

Our verdict: Ride Peter Pan. Absolutely. Just do everything you can to avoid spending an hour waiting for it.
