Making Day One a Full Disney Day

How we make arrival day feel like the beginning of the holiday rather than a day spent waiting for tomorrow.

We like the holiday to feel as though it has started as soon as we reach the resort. That does not always mean racing straight into a full park itinerary.

Get the practical bits out of the way

Drop bags, check in where possible and understand what time your room will be available. Once that is sorted, stop treating the day like a travel day.

Use Disney Village and the hotels

A walk through Disney Village, a meal, a hotel wander or simply getting that first view of the resort can make arrival day part of the experience without exhausting everyone.

Go into the parks if it makes sense

If your ticket and arrival time allow it, a few hours in the parks can be brilliant. We would rather choose a handful of things we really want to do than try to squeeze a full day into an afternoon.
