Le Coffre du Capitaine works because Pirates of the Caribbean does not really end when the boat stops.

The shop continues the atmosphere, and attraction-specific merchandise is exactly the sort of thing I am most likely to buy.

I would rather come home with something that reminds me of Pirates, Phantom Manor or Big Thunder Mountain than another generic Disney souvenir.

The children will notice the costumes and pirate bits; I am normally looking for the more specific clothing, pins or collectible pieces.

It can get cramped when everyone comes off the ride together, so we would happily circle back if we wanted a proper look.

Good to know

This is the shop at the exit of Pirates of the Caribbean, and it is also where you deal with the attraction photo and PhotoPass.

It is larger than it looks from outside and has more than one till area, so it generally handles the flow from the ride quite well.

The merchandise is mostly themed around Pirates of the Caribbean and Adventureland rather than being a general Disney range.

Keep an eye out for the opening overlooking the attraction itself, where you can see the pirate boats moving through the ride.
